To freedom in Falásarna

A coastal landscape featuring a rocky cliff in the background and a sign reading "TO FREEDOM" with an arrow pointing left. The foreground includes shrubs and palm leaves, creating a natural setting.

Today, Falásarna is one of Crete's best-known destinations, both for its beaches and for ecological reasons. Falásarna is part of the Natura 2000 network, because of the variety of flora and fauna in the area, but also because of its particular natural beauty.

The seaside has long sandy beaches and crystal clear waters that are popular both with residents of the province of Chania and visitors from Greece and abroad. Falásarna beach was once among the best 100 beaches of the world.
